• Change in archive (.arr) file format, introduction of version numbers for archive files, change for the keywords field: items separated by ``;'' rather than by ``,'' (this will allow that keywords may in the future may contain ``,''s) [6] [will be changed in v4.3e]
• Names of alternative configuration files may be defined by a command line option [5] [will be changed in v4.3e]
• Support of Linux installations with ISO-8859-1/15 encoding of text files (at present only utf-8 encoding is supported) [completed in v4.3b]
• Support for full first names [6]
• Support for the new ISBN-13 [5] [completed in v4.3d]
• Linux version: option to select less instead of the References built-in text file reader [3] [completed in v4.3c]
• Implicit [?] ("help") menu option in most menus: giving access to short help texts/explanations [4]
• Command, which lists all configuration variables [2]
• Function which generates a list of keywords used in the current database [2]
• Function which generates a list of author names and a list of editors names the current database [2]
• Additional document types: article/chapter in book with institutional authors and/or editors [1]
